Real Madrid are actively searching for a striker who fits a very specific profile—similar to that of Joselu. The ideal candidate would be a physically imposing presence in the box, capable of scoring crucial goals in tight matches, but who comes at a relatively low transfer cost and is willing to play a secondary role in the squad rather than demand a starting spot.

This search is directly influenced by a request from new head coach Xabi Alonso. At his former club, Bayer Leverkusen, Alonso worked successfully with strikers who weren’t necessarily star names but contributed significantly within specific tactical roles—players like Victor Boniface and Borja Iglesias, who were effective in the penalty area and embraced supporting responsibilities within the team.

Real Madrid’s management is fully supportive of Alonso’s vision and is determined to fulfill his request by identifying and signing a striker who matches this mold.

Several names have already been offered to the club, including Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres. While Madrid do admire the Swedish striker’s qualities and goal-scoring ability, they have ultimately decided against pursuing him. The reasons are twofold: first, his transfer fee would be significantly high, and second, the club views him as a leading striker rather than someone who would be content with a backup role—making him an ill fit for the profile they are seeking.
